Welcome to FolioPress. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website foliopress.online (the “Site”) operated by FolioPress (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on the Site. By registering, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Account Registration
- You may browse stories and anthologies without creating an account.
- To comment on stories, you must create a free account by providing a display name, email address, and password.
- You must verify your email address before your account becomes active.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Content and Intellectual Property
Our content:
- All stories, anthologies, characters, illustrations, and other creative content on the Site are owned by FolioPress and protected by copyright law.
- You may read content on the Site for personal, non-commercial use only.
- You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, modify, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written permission.
- Sharing links to stories is encouraged. Copying story text is not permitted.
Your content:
- When you post a comment, you retain ownership of your comment text.
- By posting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display your comment on the Site.
- You may delete your comments at any time by deleting your account.
4. AI-Assisted Content Disclosure
Stories and illustrations on FolioPress are created with the assistance of AI language and image models. All content is human-directed through detailed creative prompts, reviewed for quality, and editorially curated before publication. AI is used as a creative tool under human oversight — not as an autonomous publisher.
5. Acceptable Use
When using the Site, you agree not to:
- Post comments that are abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory.
- Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content in comments.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ accounts or the Site’s systems.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Site beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt file.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Site.
- Use the Site for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Post spoilers without using the spoiler tag feature (when available).
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these guidelines, without prior notice.
6. Premium Content and Purchases
FolioPress may offer premium stories and anthologies for purchase in the future. When premium content becomes available, the following terms will apply:
- Pricing: Prices will be displayed in Indian Rupees (INR). For international readers, the payment provider will handle currency conversion.
- Payment: Payments will be processed by Razorpay. We do not store your payment information (card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank details) on our servers.
- Access: Purchasing a story grants you a non-transferable, personal licence to read that story on the Site. Purchasing an anthology grants access to all chapters in that anthology.
- No refunds: All purchases of digital content are final. Because digital content is consumed immediately upon access, we do not offer refunds. We encourage you to read the free preview (lead chapter for anthologies, excerpt for stories) before purchasing.
- GST: Prices include applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) as required under Indian law.
These terms will be updated with specific details when premium content and the payment system are launched.
7. Free Content and Advertising
Many stories on FolioPress are available to read for free. Free content may include advertisements from third-party ad networks. By using the Site, you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed alongside free content. We strive to keep advertising non-intrusive and relevant to the reading experience.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Site will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free.
- The content will be accurate, complete, or free from errors.
- The Site will be free from viruses or other harmful components.
You use the Site at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FolioPress shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Site.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is greater.

12. Account Termination
- By you: You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of severe or repeated violations.
- Effect of termination: Upon termination, your right to access the Site ceases. Any purchased content will remain accessible for a reasonable period to allow you to read content you have paid for, after which access may be revoked.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
