Yes. All stories on FolioPress are currently free to read. In the future, we plan to introduce a Reader Pass subscription for premium content, but there will always be free stories available.

Stories on FolioPress are AI-assisted — crafted through detailed human-directed prompts, curated for quality, and reviewed before publication. We use AI as a creative tool under human oversight, with extensive instructions about genre diversity, narrative quality, cultural sensitivity, and character authenticity.

We publish new stories regularly — typically several per week. Follow us on social media or sign up for an account to stay updated on new releases.

No. You can read any story on FolioPress without creating an account. An account lets you comment on stories, and in the future, track your reading progress and save stories to personal shelves.

An anthology is a multi-chapter story — a unified collection of interconnected chapters that share a common world, characters, and narrative arc. Think of it as a serialized novel. You can read chapters individually or binge the whole anthology.

Yes. FolioPress supports three reading modes — Light, Dark, and Sepia. Click the theme toggle icon in the header to cycle through them. Your preference is saved automatically.

We cover the full spectrum of fiction — literary fiction, science fiction, fantasy, mystery, horror, romance, satire, magical realism, fable, children’s stories, young adult, and many more. Browse our Genres page to see what’s available.

Click the user icon in the header and select “Register.” You’ll need a display name, email address, and password. After registering, you’ll receive a verification email — click the link to activate your account.

Check your spam/junk folder first. If it’s not there, go to the login page and try logging in — you’ll see an option to resend the verification email. Verification links expire after 24 hours, but we’ll send you a reminder if you haven’t verified yet.

Unverified accounts are automatically removed after 72 hours. You’ll receive a friendly reminder at 24 hours and a final notice at 48 hours before removal. You’re welcome to sign up again anytime.

We only collect what’s necessary — your email and display name for account management, and anonymous reading analytics to improve the site. We never sell your data. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Yes. Account deletion will be available in your account settings (coming soon). In the meantime, email hello@foliopress.online and we’ll delete your account and all associated data within 48 hours.

Yes. We plan to introduce a Reader Pass subscription in the future that will unlock premium stories and additional features. Free stories will always be available — the subscription adds more, not less.

Not yet, but Reading Shelves are coming — you’ll be able to save stories to personal lists (Want to Read, Reading, Read) and pick up right where you left off.

FolioPress is built as a responsive web app that works great on mobile browsers. A dedicated mobile app is on our long-term roadmap, but the website is designed to provide a native-like reading experience on any device.
